What I collect, and what I do with it.

Short version: analytics so I know which pages are worth keeping, and your message when you write to me. No ad tracking, nothing sold to anyone, and one person reading the inbox.

What I collect when you just read the site

Google Analytics 4 records that a visit happened: which pages, roughly where in the world, what kind of device, and how you arrived. It sets a first party cookie so a second page view in the same session is not counted as a second person.

Google Signals is turned off, so nothing here is joined to advertising profiles or followed across your devices. I do not run ads, and there is no ad pixel on this site. Analytics data is deleted after 14 months.

What I collect when you contact me

The contact form takes your name, your email, and whatever you write. If you include a phone number or a business name, I store that too. It goes into my own database and it emails me.

I also store a one way hashed form of your IP address with the message. It cannot be turned back into your IP. It exists only so I can spot a flood of spam submissions.

What I do with it

I reply to you. That is the whole purpose. If we end up working together, I keep the thread so I have the history of your project.

I do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to a marketing list. There is no sales team here to pass it to. It is one person, and the person is me.

Who else touches it

The site runs on Vercel and the database is Supabase, so both process the data as part of hosting it. Contact notifications are sent through Resend. Payments, if you become a client, run through Stripe, and I never see or store your card number.

Those are service providers doing a job for me, not partners I share data with for their own purposes.

How to opt out or get it removed

Browser Do Not Track and any content blocker will stop the analytics script; nothing on the site breaks without it.

Email me at jake@northwebdev.com and ask for your data and I will send you what I have. Ask me to delete it and I will delete it, and tell you when it is done. You do not need a reason and there is no form.

Questions about any of this go straight to me: use the contact form or email jake@northwebdev.com.
